This is on the less ornate side. I prefer jewelry to be on the smaller, simpler side when I wear my costumes...I feel like large pieces of jewelry compete with the costume and is sometimes too heavy. I made this out of oxidized sterling silver, garnet, black chalcedony (center stone), and onyx. Its an 18" choker. It took me forever to weave the tiny chain onto the frame and shape all the lace-like wires. I think it was well worth it, I'm happy with the result.

This is my first time making something like this! This is my headdress for our tribal fusion show coming up. I'm with our student troupe and I've done some ATS style performances with them but this will be my first tribal fusion performance.

The cowrie falls are made from a couple of necklaces I found at Walmart. I cheated! Seemed like a handy shortcut since I still have so much left to make. I added alligator clips to one end of each of them, and then peacock feathers at the other end.

I still need to add ties to tie the headdress on, and wig clips to the underneath to make it more secure.

Worked and re worked the bra for a long time until happy with it. Adorned the vest (made by Kathleen Crowley) with a Victorian piece of lace and glass buttons. Made the Belt from old victorian velvet scraps and buttons from an antique textiles shop, plus chandelier glass to catch the stage lights. The fringe came off a victorian cape!

Anyone know where I can get some of this? Local fabric stores don't carry it. It's regular elastic, with "threads" of elastic through it on one side. (nice for non-slippage)
