Below find pics of my current monster in progress. Something is needed... maybe to tone it down a bit, the colors got a little wild. I'm going for a funky happy theme, for practice only. Maybe I should add some black tassels around the hip line? This is meant to be worn with black, of course.
I know its a very hate-able design, but I kinda like the playfulness. Anyway, thoughts are solicited!!!

Mon, July 14, 2008 - 3:13 PMYou could try over-dying, although I am not sure it will work on yarn.

Mon, July 14, 2008 - 4:02 PMI'm not usually a fan of bright colors, but this is really nice!! you could always trim it out in black, and maybe the tassels would help mute it down too... or perhaps sew little designs into the main part with darker yarn... I dunno... either way, you do terrific work!!

Mon, July 14, 2008 - 6:38 PMPersonally, I really like it. But then, I made a belt and hair falls in bright pink! (See my profile) I think it'd be great for summer. -

Mon, July 14, 2008 - 7:05 PMThe pink is fabulous! I'm going for that sense of humor/bright colors.
Doing some accents in dark color is a good idea. -

Tue, July 15, 2008 - 5:30 AMJust throwing my .02 worth in...I like the idea of adding accents in a dark color, black would be ok - but I'd probably use darker versions of what you've got going.

Tue, July 15, 2008 - 12:04 AMI love it. I would leave it as it is, but if your not happy then take your time before you decide what to do next. Ive made one with bright colours (see my pics).
Happy dancing in it what ever you decide.

Re: Funky Hip Belt-Advise needed. X-Post
Tue, July 15, 2008 - 7:20 AMOh, I say take it all the way...get yourself a hot pink skirt and a purple choli and rock those colours!!! I'd even say to make a set of hair falls out of the same colours...why not? -

Re: Funky Hip Belt-Advise needed. X-Post
Tue, July 15, 2008 - 8:17 AMFabulous idea Rebekah, unfortunately my hair is too short for falls (we're talking, like 1.5 inches long) :( Was thinking of maybe some kind of funky headband tho.
My dad and i are taking a road trip today and I think i'm going to make some fabu crocheted flowers/medalions and maybe a funky headbandish head piece.
I really like the ideas of "taking it all the way" Its bright and funky, why not just be unappologetic about it? It totally doesn't match my personality, but I guess it did on that day, or matches some part of my personality or it wouldn't have been created!
Anyone else have any ideas as far as exactly WHAT type of medallion or flower to put on?
