inexpensive bottom pieces?

topic posted Tue, May 6, 2008 - 8:24 PM by  Beth
hello all,

i'm traveling to yemen this summer, and in my search for culturally appropriate clothing, i completely forgot that many bellydance costuming pieces fill the loose and long requirement...

i had always assumed that i would make my own skirts and pantaloons as needed but i'm running out of time and have no idea where to start looking for some to purchase. any ideas? i'm on a budget and i don't need anything fancy, in fact, it would be best if i didn't have anything fancy. just something to tide me over until i can purchase my clothing there.

any thought'd be appreciated!

    Hi Beth,

I asked a question about a vendor with too good to be true prices here: tribes.tribe.net/bellydanc...f52d05b8b. I've not yet bought from them but as you can see from the thread, the vendor is well recommended. I have no clue how long they may take to get your order to you, though.

In case the link doesn't get you straight to the thread, scroll down to the one about Ro and Rea's Boutique.

As awkward as this may sound, a friend of mine was going to Saudi Arabia for two months last summer and definitely wanted to try to dress culturally appropriate (esp. since she's female, pretty well-endowed, and Amazonian in height), so she asked some of the Muslim women in her classes where good places to buy clothes were. They gave her a list of good websites... maybe do a search for something like that?

Have fun in Yemen! I'm jealous!
