Re: costuming ideas to cover stomache?
Mon, October 19, 2009 - 12:43 PMWell, having read some of the threads, I hope I don't regret it, but I bought a "fishnet dress" at an adult store. It come in a box, and was on a wall with stockings and such. It has a high collar that I actually like under my choli, and because it's a dress, I didn't have to try to cut out legs or worry about getting to the bathroom. I lace the choli ties into the netting to keep the back up. The only skin that is showing is the open part of the choli back. I believe it was $16. I have only worn it a few times, but it DEFINITELY covers up the stretchmarks my beautiful, but 9 pound 9 ounce daughter gifted me with. :-) It seems to move well enough over me that it hasn't gotten caught in any creases. Yet, lol.

Re: costuming ideas to cover stomache?
Tue, October 27, 2009 - 11:59 PMI have found a couple of dresses at thrift store, two layers, with a lace layer on top. I just cut out the underdress and wear the lacey part as a cover. I've seen ones that are just opuque or sheer too. How bout lotsa fringe?

Re: costuming ideas to cover stomache?
Fri, October 30, 2009 - 8:13 AMI found two decorated chains on ebay. When they came I realized they'd be the tummy drapes I'd hunted for. You can see them here (I'm in the black turban):

I found coordinating colored/textured buttons at the $1 store and sewed one at each side to connect the chains. That way the chains can be moved from top to top, even though I've not yet actually done this. What I decided to do is make this my "signature" tummy drape.
So far people have said they look rally cool because when I spin they fly out. I'm thinking this is a good thing that people are noticing the chains and their movement, not my tummy. :)
