HELP!!! I have just moved up into a performing student troupe and I don't have squat, so I have to beg and borrow every costume piece I wear. I am looking for a way to create my very own belt for performances and hardly have a kuchi piece to my name. I also am "experiencing the recent economic recession", therefore I can not pay heartily for every piece as I need to buy enough to fuel a whole belt. Please advise me as to some great resources either in the area or internet for nice kuchi pieces without the "nice" price. I would be forever indebted as will my troupe mates that I am eternally pilfering from ;).

Re: Best DFW or Internet Souce for Affordable Kuchi pieces
Wed, October 14, 2009 - 10:37 AMMy favorites are The Red Camel ( theredcamel.tripod.com/ ), The Silk Road ( www.silkroadtribal.com/ ), and Tribal Bazaar ( www.tribalbazaar.com/ ). Tribal Bazaar has some nice grab-bags for cheap, if you don't mind mis-matched pieces or missing "stones" (which you can fix): www.tribalbazaar.com/grabbags.html That might be your way to go.
Here are some other threads in the Ethnic Jewelry tribe about similar topics:

Re: Best DFW or Internet Souce for Affordable Kuchi pieces
Thu, October 15, 2009 - 10:13 AMAlso - I know Silk Road has a Facebook page, and if you are a fan of it, you get updates on sales and coupon codes. I think some of the other stores have FB or Myspace pages or groups as well. Or, if you aren't on FB or don't check it very often, just check back at the different stores (all the ones linked to above), as most of them have sales on different items every couple of weeks or each month. If you check back often for the sales, you can end up with some good deals!
I agree with the suggestion for grab bags and broken pieces. You might want to ask the other girls in your troupe, too. You never know if each of them might have one or two extra pendants that were bought and never used, and if you could buy them cheaply from them (and not have to pay for shipping!), you may end up halfway to having enough pieces, anyway.
