Hi Everyone!
I have really enjoyed the community of DIYers in this tribe, and getting feedback from you guys helped me develop the confidence to jump into the open market! I decided to start selling some costuming creations in an etsy.com store: ayperibellydancer.etsy.com. Please check it out and let me know what you think! :)
Does anyone else have an etsy.com store? If you have any advice for me, please let me know!
Thanks!

Fri, September 11, 2009 - 1:15 PMI don't have a store but I am a customer on there. I love your flowers. You might already do this, make skirts for hip up to 50". But, you have to do what sells best. =) I always ask though and sometimes they seller will make it custom for me. -

Re: etsy shop opening
Fri, September 11, 2009 - 1:24 PMAngelia makes skirts in any size: creationsbyangelia.com/skirts.htm Also, most skirts go "up to" 48" -- this is a loose measurement, I find. I have a 54" waist & can fit most commercially-made skirts, despite them only going "up to" 48". Also, if they're a tad too tight, I'll sometimes pop the elastic out of the waistband & put in a drawstring instead (I find skirts stay up better with a drawstring anyway). -

Re: etsy shop opening
Fri, September 11, 2009 - 1:55 PMcongratulations! The etsy community has been very friendly and supportive, and the site is easy to work with as well as reliable. My only advice and I think you are fine, is to make sure you have actual costs involved in shipping and handling, it's amazing how they add up if you include the cost of shipping materials.
my site is www.saadja.etsy.com

Tue, September 15, 2009 - 7:37 PMLove your dance bras. I used to make my own tops but I had a car accident in March and after 6 months of therapy and two surgeries, I still don't have the strength or feeling (there was some nerve damage) in my right hand. I haven't stopped designing. I am still making other accessories. I just can't sew like I used to. -
