Buyer's remorse!

I already have a serious case, and I haven't even made the purchase, yet!

While in desperate need of some new practice pants (i.e. I have a huge irreparable hole in the knee that just keeps growing and growing!) I can't seem to justify this purchase... but I don't want to go to my next practice session looking like a hobo. Heeeelp!

I want these: www.etsy.com/view_listing.php

Much less expensive than Geisha Moth's $120 to replace what I have, but is this a good deal, as well? Only $14 to have them shipped to island! Maybe I'm being too hasty to decide? I'd take a whack at making my own again, but with my sewing machine floating somewhere across the Pacific on its way to me, that option will be out for another two months or so. (I know, right? How am I going to survive?!) Any and all input would be greatly appreciated, ladies!

And if you have a cure for buyer's remorse, please do share!

I don't know what this buyer's remorse thing is all about! You'd be spending WAY LESS than you would on something else, although you will most likely (in fact almost certainly) be getting a lower quality item (in comparison to Geisha Moth or Melodia). However, I think it's a great buy... practice pants are just that, for practice!! If anything, once they start to fall apart you can use them as a pattern and make something more durable.

I'd say go for it. If it ends up that these pants are way cheap and aren't that awesome, it's less than $30 you spent!

That's an astounding size range. I'd find out what size the model was (ask for dimensions, hips and legs) and buy if near yours... I won't define 'near'.... but if she's 32 hip and you're 42, the pants will drape much differently, assuming you can get them on!

I actually own a pair of those pants. They're good for practice. It was annoying to have to trim them to my height (I like my pants arriving and fitting as soon as I put them on!) I've got a 32" waist and I find that the fabric around my hips/butt gets a bit sheer because it stretches the fabric a bit. They look nice otherwise, but I hardly use them because the fabric getting sheer around my butt bothers me. I would say invest in a pair that you know you will like, know will fit you well, and will also last you a long time.

I bought a similar pair of pants from an online vendor in Taiwan and I love them. They're soft, comfortable and they look more expensive than they really are. With shipping they were almost $40. I bought 2 more pairs.

If you need good practice pants, get some. If you don't, you'll become more self conscious when you are in class or dancing somewhere else. Its worth the money

I knew I should have just listened to Amy!

I messaged the seller, and am hoping to find out more today. The size and the sheerness really has me curious now that it's been mentioned. I know I'd be getting a good deal, but I would never be comfortable with my undies exposed to the whole class during my shimmies. As for the trimming to my height it shouldn't be too much a problem. I'm about 5'3" and the way it fits the model (who is 5'2") doesn't bother me.

I'm gald I posted! I'll let everyone know once she gets back to me. Thanks, guys!

I usually wear a hip scarf/belt that obscures my undies, so I don't worry about the visibility of them too much, but it is definitely something to be aware of before making a purchase. The owner of the shop is very sweet and the pants are sooooo soft and comfy, though. Good luck! :D

She is very nice, and was really helpful (and honest!) about the fit! I've decided that I'm gonna buy 'em in two weeks, when I can afford it. :P

Thanks, Maura! She was actually mistaken about the size range: 0-8!

And Kelebek had a good point! If I don't get something I'm going to feel comfortable in, I won't really be able to focus on dancing. I love the color grey, and the style is just perfect.

Aside from all the sheerness, that's a really good idea! I love hip scarfs, too. Thanks, Danielle!

Now if only I can contain myself until I'm actually able to get them! The wait is going to kill me more than the decision! Thanks everyone for all your help! I'm so excited! :D

Thanks, Amy! I've been reading a few posts lately about non-delivered fans and sellers going completely silent after recieving a payment! I'm already a little nervous about putting my money out there. (My relationship with internet shopping is the greatest love/hate one of my life!)

Ohhhhh, the are gorgeous, Whisky! If I do get the first pair I had originally planned on buying I will definitely look into getting a rosehip. That olive color is amazing. <3

And Erica, even if I get one of the other pairs, I'm investing in a tendril pair! Those ARE funky! The other chicks at my new class would LOVE them!

I might be able to go ahead and get something on Friday... But there are so many choices now! :D

I was looking at those they other day? Aren't they awesome?! If I actually had a reason to wear them, I'd probably just say to hell with it and drop a little extra on them! But I don't have a reason... and my husband would kill me! :P

I have a pair of these pants that I made my self that I am willing to sell to you for $30 plus S/H. My hip size is 34" and I'm about 5'4" So if you are my size or smaller then these pants would fit you. They are made with a 4-way stretch Black fabric, similar to the Melodia thickness, so they are not a light weight stretch material. They do not have a fold over waist band, just so you know.

You are from Ireland? I have some of these in Red and I am really happy with them.
I got them slightly cheaper because one of the legs wasn't over locked and there was a few small holes in the bum area seam where the machain has grabed the fabric I think, but I have had them for a over a year and a half, and they are still going strong! (Well the small holes in the back are growing slightly bigger, but I think thats because my booty is growing slightly bigger) the fabric at the back covers it anyway and if I am really worried about it I just use a hip scarf.
But i'm really happy with them, and looking to buy a second pair in a different colour when I have money again :)
