This is a store on ebay for Buyer BE WEAR
I was bidding on a lot of 6 skirts in which I was winning with a wonderful price so I thought. After the bidding got to $100, the seller put a BUY NOW price in the site so anyone that was bidding and wanted the lot of 6 for $89.00 could purchase it cheaper but the highest bidder was locked into paying the higher price. I paid ASAP and contacted the seller - ask if he would not make up the difference with sending extra wraps - just told me "TO BAD not he fault the bidding got so high"
So I left them a natural comment - and explain the change in auction after price was over $100. In return they give me a negative comment and misleading information my comments. I contacting him asking why the negative when all I did was be a great buyer by over paying within 10 min of the auction ending and only asking for him to balance the wrong doing on his part. Again "TOO BAD" "YOUR FAULT"
My reply...I will take my business and many other with me. HAVE A NICE DAY!

There have been a rash of medical articles from throughout the Middle East about the dangerous content of tested kohls.

I have been in Ebay nightmare for the past two days trying to report a power seller and ebay store owner of The Spirit Room for copyright infringement using photos of a customized item I created and designed to sell their goods. A kind tribe sister alerted me to the infringement and Ebay of course makes it so very difficult to report. It's ironic how much time I"ve spent trying to report it when the individual just went to my website and dragged the photo onto their desktop and voila! began to post it on all their listings and the greater irony is that over my photo they've splashed their own www. web address as if the photo and the item is lawfully theirs. I guess I need to get really predefensive and put my own copyright brand on every photo of my websites! Its like defensive driving I guess.

This store owner has been reported here on tribe before for using dancer's images unlawfully and for selling Melodia knock offs, please don't buy from them. There are plenty of other Ebay sellers who sell mirror belts, cowries and kuchi costume jewelry that dancers can buy. It seems pretty normal to expect that someone would know you can't use a photo of someone else's custom designed image to sell your own goods without permission, and I understand humans make mistakes - I make many and have made many out of selfishness myself. On that level I understand, but huge corporate Ebay has me boiling. You can't talk to anyone directly and their link to another link to another to get to the right report place and preformatted email forms that don't fit the situation and won't send and fax numbers that are busy for hours and I mean hours make it very difficult for someone who's been infringed upon to get resolution. ARRRRRRGGGGGH!

Anyway thats my rant. I'm grateful for Spring in all her Divinity, for my honey bees - making the most amazing Santa CRuz nectar honey, for my body healing itself from pneumonia, for all the beautiful spirits who use dance to pray, to vision, to heal, to connect, to celebrate, to go deeper and for Pema Chodron my teacher (hey buy her cd teachings now - you'll never regret it) and for the abundance I live in everyday.

As of today, my very first 'Flying Skirts', backless ATS style choli arrived. The tag boasts that it can be worn without a bra.

And, I have to disagree. For myself at least.

I am a 36 DD -- and this choli can NOT be worn without a bra. No. Sorry. And so... this is a problem for me. This choli is very, very nice... I am very impressed with it's construction and the fabric is great. But, I cannot wear it without a bra, and I don't see how any larger chested dancer could, either.

Such a never ending battle.... *SIGH*

So now I'm wondering... what can I do to make this work? Anyone have any suggestions?? I put a picture up in the gallery of how it looks over my bra. And the thing is... I NEED that bra support, so, maybe someone here can help me out??

Help?? This all just seems all so .... unfair to me. I don't think I should have to wear a choli with a back just because I have a larger chest. There has to be a way to modify this -- even with this choli I just got. Seems like such a shame to me.

I guess I lean toward my Native American side and only believe in killing when necessary, for food or if the entire animal is going to be used. I would like to make this piece, but I want to do so in an informed and compassionate way if possible. Is such a thing even possible? I do eat meat and I believe in the cycle of life. I wouldn't adorn myself with fur, so I am feeling slightly weird about bone and claws. What do you all think?

I also wanted to find out about custom duties. On the Silvex website it says the the purchaser is responsible for all custom duties. I tried to call the US Custom's office to ask questions, but they were rude and not much help. Has anyone else had to deal with custom's fees? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I plan on placing a fairly large order, around $500.00 and don't want to be shocked and upset when I have to pay a horrible amount in duties.
Hey there so I need some help with a question. I'm having some clothes made in Bali but I'm not sure how much customs charges. And I'm having a hard time finding this kind of information online.

I was just charged $9.00 customs charge for a small box of just some fabric swatches. This seems exorbitantly high to me but then, I don't know what it is normally.

Do any of you either have clothes manufactured there or know anyone who does who I could ask? Any help on this would be very very much appreciated. Thank you.

I bought some cord thinking I could string them on that and then sew that onto the bra.....maybe I'm just retarded....but I can't seem to get the cord through the loops either for the same reason as trying the needle and thread.
do i do this same thing around the arm holes, or just put the lining directly on there? I am sort of making this thing up as I go along based on other vests I have, and the turkish vest i have doesn't have a lining and the regular old vest (with much wider front panel) runs the liner direct to the arm. dont really want to see the liner fabric when i raise my arms, for instance. but maybe you wouldn't...

Hello all.

Please support you sisters in the UK. We are now banned from purchasing dance swords.

Sad news I'm afraid. I have just spoken to Jonathan Batt, at the home office who has confirmed that we (belly and tribal dancers in the UK) are covered in the VCR (Violent Crimes Reduction Bill).
As Belly dancers, we are not covered in the exemptions of being classed as a 'sporting activity' or a Historical reenactment. While we can perform with our existing swords, if you have public liability insurance. You can no longer purchase a new blade.

This is scary thought, as if we are not included in the exclusions to the ban, the art form of sword dancing will ultimately die out in the UK! my sword was broken recently In a workshop when it was dropped. I now can't get a new one....

The only way we can get this changed for all belly dancers is to contact the home office and request that as a dance form that we are allowed to continue to be allowed to purchase swords, so that we can continue with a beautiful art form.

Please, Please take the time to contact Jonathan and request that he put forward to the Home Office that bellydancers and tribal dancers are made exempt from the VCR Bill. He is a nice guy and has agreed to be the contact point for this query. It will take a huge volume of dancers contacting him to make a difference, so please take the time to write to him.

His contact details are Jonathan.Batt@Homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

Also if you are a member of a tribe, where this is not mentioned, can you please post information there.
Clearly, the 25 yard tissue skirts are ideal--but what's the *minimum* amount necessary?

thanks in advance!

After you preshrink tumble dry till Nearly dry. Fold yardage in half (lengthwise) (Yes even if it's really long!!) This makes it fit on your ironing board better. After ironing, mark the width of your tier and snip. Then just RIP it! You will get a long even strip the length of your yardage saving you TONS of cutting time. This has made tribal costumung not so scary for me. Hope it helps.

First... What bras do you other little ladies find comfy? Normally I wear Victoria's Secret but those cost an arm and a leg and I'm not going to start sewing them (unfortunate, they fit so well...). I tried on a bunch of different bras at Wal-Mart but none of them seemed to do the trick. What inexpensive bras have you found good for making into art projects?

Alternately, since my bust is so small I feel really exposed when wearing just a bra. The cups are pretty teeny! I really like the halter bra designs that Synari makes (the ones that look like bikini tops), and I was wondering if any of you had seen a good pattern for making something similar.

I really want to get in touch with her to get some of those made! any help would be greatly appreciated, or any clues as to where to find her!

I currently boycott all Chinese made products (few exceptions, unfortunately) and try to avoid the Dollar Store (very difficult for a college student) and Wal-Mart. I feel that these places perpetuate the policy of worker exploitation to the max so they can sell something for as cheap as possible with the cheapest materials with no regard to the welfare of the worker or the consumer.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone out there knows anything about the quality of the working conditions of the people who make their products. I'm not talking about just UE, but any of those that have similar products that they do. I've seen quite a few on Ebay.
i'm trying to make a tribal belt, not out of metal but mainly out of fabric (the base in any case -- i want to be able to sew things, shells etc onto it)

thing is, i haven't the least idea how to do this.
what fabric to use? coton? is it stiff enough? leather would be impossible to sew onto....
